CBS Sports: Get Ready for Even More March Madness in 2011
CBS Sports Still Running the Show On March Madness, But Get Ready For More College Basketball Than Ever BeforeIt's become as much a part of March as warmer weather and trees beginning to bloom: March Madness on CBS.
The network has held the broadcasting rights to the insanely popular tournament since 1991, but with a newly expanded field and some new viewing options, you can see even more basketball this March than ever before.
After all, just the prospect of 68 teams mean there are more games to choose from when things get underway, ensuring maximum hoops-watching time.
But, if that weren't enough to get you going, CBS is also streaming every game of the tournament live over the Internet; all you have to do is find the game you want to watch, and presto! Instant basketball on your computer (and a whole new way to procrastinate at work).
We're not done yet, though; thanks to a partnership with Turner Sports, every single game of the tournament will be shown on national television for the first time ever. No matter where you live, or who you're rooting for, if you've got CBS, TNT, TBS, and truTV, you have the power to watch every single game of the tournament, if you wanted to (and, frankly, who wouldn't?).
Plus, from the sound of things, TNT and TBS will be providing their own commentators for the games on their networks (Marv Albert and Steve Kerr, anyone?). But, most importantly for all you sports fans out there, this also increases the likelihood of a Gus Johnson sighting on CBS' broadcasts, which instantly makes any game a must-watch.
If that's not a win-win situation, I don't know what is.
